Galaxy Task ROM v14 for Rooted Galaxy Tab 10.1!

Galaxy Task ROM version 14 is out for rooted Galaxy Tab 10.1 users. I think this is the best ROM for the Tab 10.1 right now couple with Pershoot’s kernel. Until we have a stable ICS with camera working, this is probably the recommended custom ROM.

  5. rots says:

Just installed this ROM, after reboot I’m unable to open the browser. It crashes.
Did a couple of reboot the browser wont open.
….so far…no go for me with this ROM

  6. jjiop says:

Very fast hiting close to 3000 but auto rotation is not working. need to use orientation switch.

  7. neonymbus says:

love the overclocking on v14, but i was running v13 slim and everything seemed better. Auto rotation worked, better keyboards and browser. The only problem was no overclocking. I just thought updates were supposed to make things better.

  8. Brandon says:

Looked great at first, but the no overclocking was killing me. Switched back to Task 9 for now.

  9. Rgazmik says:

works great! You may have to wipe browser data in Titanium to fix browser issues.
Fast, i dont need to overclock.

  10. Joe says:

I can’t download the Rom. The connection to the server keeps getting reset. If i try to download on my Tab it always fails. Any ideas?

  11. Param says:

Sorry for the off track question but can you please share the link to the wallpaper? thanks in advance.
I installed this ROM but the performance is not as good as the ICS 4.0.3 (it’s the camera which I miss there).

  12. Luis says:

For me, when i isntalled the ROM. the maket is gone…..!!! what can i do, to have it back.?

  13. neonymbus says:

Task rom has market, but if you installed ics you need to install google apps.

  14. neonymbus says:

Have we figured out how to fix this auto rotation problem yet?

  15. Toha says:

Why do all first release of ROM do not support camera?
Is it so hard to get it working or developers just think its low prio?
As admin of this web page wrote and at lest also for me its a deal break.

  16. Alvin Tran says:

The acceloration works fine. But it says no connection when I go to the market, or in the youtube app. Any idea?
The camera app works great too.

  17. Alvin Tran says:

Im new. Can you overclock this. If so, how?

    • neonymbus says:

You have to dowload the kernel and flash it as well, then you can overclock to 1400 using setcpu

      • Alvin Tran says:

Im new, so what you’re saying is I can just install the ROM, then do the overclock as usual?

        • neonymbus says:

No, you install the rom, then when thatis done and set up you get back into recovery and flash the kernel. the kernel download is on this page right under the rom download link.

  18. Kool Nerd Daz says:

I have a rooted Galaxy tab 8.9, would this rom work on it?

    • neonymbus says:

I would think so, i think it works for 10.1 wifi and 3g so why not. Just make a nandroid backup and give her a whirl.

  19. neonymbus says:

Just want to let everyone know the kernel posted on this page is wrong, the right one is v3.2 pershoot and can be found here

  20. neonymbus says:

By the way max i mean no disrespect about the kernel, but the new version fixed my auto rotation issue and i wanted to leave a link for people.

Love your stuff dude, you have been my go to guy when it comes to rooting my tab. So thanks bro.

    • Luis says:

I had the same problem when installing the kernel. Autorotation did not work, and connectivity either. I could not connect to my wifi network. As you fixed that? Thanks

  21. Trevor B says:

On this rom the new google play store won’t work. I tried clearing data that didn’t work. I uninstalled updates it erased the market all together. Then i installed the the newest play store apk and it didn’t work. Any Ideas or known fixes

    • alex says:

I found a way to make it work. Install Aptoide Repos, then install Aptoide (main app), after this go to the “update” tab (within aptoide) then “uninstall” the Play Store. When you do this a prompt will tell you that the default app will be left in the device instead. Accept prompt, then open Market again (it will be named “Market” again). The Market will atempt to upgrade to Play Store again, with the difference that this time it won’t crash at all. Enjoy!

  22. neonymbus says:

I have the same problem, this sucks

  23. neonymbus says:

I got mine to work just by uninstalling updates and then opening the market again. then it did the update again and everything worked fine.

  24. vt11 says:

that was hands down the worst video review i have ever watched haha. i know absolutely nothing about this rom after watching that

  25. Randy says:

    Hi,
Thanks for the VID. Nevertheless I’ll wait for the ROM with ICS and with all the bugs fixed. I saw a couple of weeks ago someone with this same question. Whick wallpaper are you using in the vid. I like it a lot!!
    Looking forward …

  26. Ben says:

Has anyone else had issues with the Google Play app force closing? Everything works great except the Google Play app.

  27. bedashii says:

Is it just me or is there like a MASSIVE delay on the auto-rotate (or maybe I just got used to how smooth ICS was/ is)

  28. orly says:

You did WHAT? installed the official market via an alternate/sideloaded market?

  29. Pingback: No screen rotation after root

  30. matt says:

Everything works fine except for the battery life. I clear the stats then restart after it autoshutdown with 30 – 40% and fully rechrge but still only getting 2 – 4 hrs. What’s the secret???

  31. nadav says:

Its work nice however android market wont open, can anyone help me fix it ??

  32. badreviewtroll says:

The worst review ever. Made no sense whatsoever.

  33. I’m still learning from you, while I’m improving myself. I certainly liked reading all that is posted on your blog.Keep the stories coming. I loved it!

  34. Stefan says:

I just flashed this rom, yes, why would you do that? Well, I don’t like android 4.0+ on this tablet. Youtube lags like hell.

I flashed this rom in combination with the correct OC kernel with rotation support. When my tablet is standby for a long period of time, it is dead. It won’t respond to a thing, charging, volume. Nothing works.
Only cure is to reboot the tablet with holding the power button for a long time.

    Any one has a cure?
